November 2015

A fruitful journey onwards…

Summer. The latest rush of sunny and warm weather around our region is drawing to an end, and it's the right time to have a look at winter clothing.

If there's one thing I have acknowledged over the past 10 years in my career, is that pretty much this desk where I sit has significant value. ArabWheels has been around for some time in the market. Next month, we will be celebrating our 13th anniversary!

This November issue arrives on the heels of many great events happening in the region: Dubai International Motor Show 2015 and the 1st ArabWheels Awards 2015. That said, the endless brilliant events and the never-ending cycle of a monthly magazine means we see longer nights in good shape. Dubai Motors Sow will take place from the 10th until the 14th of November. Our annual awards will take place on the evening of the 11th of November at the H Hotel in Dubai, 40 Kong venue.

So what's in our issue?
We attended the world premiere debut of the NISMO brand by Nissan in Dubai. The surprise wasn't even the 370Z Nismo or the GTR Nismo, but the Patrol Nismo!

Our cover story has been dedicated to the all new 2016 Lexus RX. We drove it in Oregon State in Portland, USA.

In our global drives section, we tested the all new Jaguar XF in Spain and the 2nd generation MINI Cooper Clubman in Sweden. In our regional drives, we drove the Cadillac CTS-V on Yas Marina circuit in Abu Dhabi.

In our editors' choice, section we tenderly chose some cars that could really end up in your garage. Ershad drove the 2015 Chevrolet Silverado and the Mercedes-Benz GLE (previously M-Class) in Dubai. I drove the 2015 Audi RS6 Avant in Dubai, while back in Beirut, I drove the Infiniti QX60 (previously known as JX35) and the new Jaguar XE 2.0T, 200hp.

In our special feature section, our team covered the Alfa Romeo museum in Milan, Italy. We interviewed Pietro Gorlier, president and CEO of Mopar, and discussed with him the Middle East market and the forecast.

And as usual, we covered some fan clubs around the Middle East. This month, we covered the Ferrari Club's activities in Lebanon. Spoil your ride section has been dedicated to Joe El Feghali (president of Porsche Club Lebanon) who owns a Porsche 911 Carrera that is heavily tuned and customized.

I leave you here, loyal readers of ArabWheels, and I hope to see you at the Dubai International Motor Show. Come visit our booth there. Our awards will be announced on the evening of the 11th and hopefully covered in the December issue.

Finish reading this issue and then sneak out early and go drive a great car!
