Extreme stunts by some automakers

Lately it's been quite interesting to read stories about some extreme stunts done my some car manufacturers. This month I was lucky enough to bring some amusing stories: Porsche 911 GT3 versus Fighter Jet and Audi A7 Quattro off-road on Dubai's sand dunes!

Porsche were doing couple of experimental tests to discover why their cars are "Uncommon" and why the G-Force you experience in a 911 can fire up your brain Fighter Jet-style. In order to prove this, and yes it's a marketing stunt, they went and booked a fighter jet and brought their own 911 GT3 to the playground.

The test subject got to experience some serious Gs in the jet, which is sure to get your attention no matter who you are. Then it was the GT3s turn to do a few laps. the results are in and it seems that the human brain is quite satisfied with the excitement provided by a GT3. Not exactly on the same level as with the jet, but close enough to make it interesting.

Since it is a "marketing stunt" somehow, I'd like to point out that scientists could have gotten those very same results with any other car that's similar to the 911 GT3 in performance - and there are quite a few.
How about an Audi's A7 Sportback taking on Dubai's sandy dunes?

Even though the Audi A7 seems to have come out on top after duking it out with the sand dunes in Dubai, we know there's a lot more to that type of driving than just a capable all-wheel drive system. I wasn't expecting to see an Audi A7 Sportback kicking up sand in the desert, although you can expect the anything around the Middle-East region. I'm not surprised either. Many of you would think that you need above average ground clearance in order to even attempt to go sand dune, but that's not necessarily the case.

Believe it or not, Audi's Quattro does a great job; the most important element in such an endeavor is the driver himself. Knowing how to drive on sand can make up for anything the car might not have going for it!
