Chevrolet Trax

Part 1:
This is the first time I am doing a long term test. We first introduced our "Long Term Test" section in ArabWheels with my colleague in Dubai, Ershad, and the Chevrolet Silverado. In Beirut, I took out the Chevrolet Trax AWD. I grabbed it from Impex, official distributor of Chevrolet vehicles in Lebanon, and I quite luck with the timing because two extreme storms dominated Lebanon for the first two weeks of February.

The topics covered in our long term test range from things like fuel efficiency and comfort, to highlights of specific features like high-tech gadgets offered.

Time passed by quickly. We took possession of our 2015 Chevrolet Trax on the 30th of January 2015, with an odometer reading of 10,300 km. Although I didn't go on any big road trips, I drove almost 1,300 km during the first three weeks.

In February, we concentrated on testing and checking the fuel efficiency of the Trax. It was all about driving along Beirut's streets and in traffic jams (city drive), driving on the highway and mountains roads. We wanted to test the combined fuel cycle.

What are the specifications of the Trax we drove?
2015 Chevrolet Trax 1.8L Ecotec Petrol, 4 cylinder, 140hp@6300 rpm, 175Nm@3800 rpm, 6 speed auto, AWD, weight: 1370 kg, pricing is 21,999 $USD (excluding VAT) for the FWD, AWD reaches 24,000 $USD (excluding VAT)

What was the result of the fuel consumption on a combined cycle?
The results were quite impressive. Fuel consumption combined tested: 454 Km on full tank 53 liters = 8.56L/100 km, 233.64km/20 liters.

Part 2:
Here is an update to my long term test on board the Chevy Trax in Beirut. It's been two months now and I'm super satisfied. Last month, we tested the fuel consumption combined cycle and got impressive results. Remember that long term tests in Lebanon include the city traffic and mountainous roads.

The 2015 Chevrolet Trax is worth the attention if you're looking for an affordable and small CUV (Compact Utility Vehicle) that's easy to drive, easy to park and has up-to-date technology features. It's not that quick, especially with the 1.8L engine, but the interior materials are best in class.

Here is an overview of prices in Lebanon in the same CUV category:
