Team Altran Peugeot Swaidan Trading leads A3 Class standings with first-second finish at 24H Dubai 2017

Team Altran Peugeot Swaidan Trading, the Touring Cars A3 Class Champions in 2016, posted a stunning first and second finish at 24H DUBAI 2017, the biggest motorsport event of the region. The team's win in the first race of the season, from among 92 cars that started at the 5.399km-long Dubai Autodrome international circuit, has signalled their intent to compete for top honours in the 2017 24H SERIES Touring Cars Championship.

Team Altran Peugeot Swaidan Trading won the coveted trophies for Touring Cars A3 Class (Touring Cars 2000 up to 3500cc & Supercharged 1650 up to 2000cc) in the 2016 24H SERIES Championship. In addition, its drivers, France's Guillaume Roman and Stéphane Ventaja, were crowned Overall Drivers Champions in 2016 from a field of more than 600 contestants. The team now leads standings in the A3 Class of the 2017 Teams and Drivers Championship.

With renewed support from Swaidan Trading, Peugeot's importer, distributor and after-sales services provider in Dubai and Northern Emirates, the team's victory in Dubai was delivered by experienced drivers in their fast and reliable Peugeot 208 GTi cars. One of the two cars in the race, #308, was in the expert hands of Guillaume Roman (France), Thierry Blaise (France), Kim Holmgaard (Denmark) and Michael Carlsen (Denmark). The other Peugeot 208 GTi, #908, was driven by Gonzalo De Andrés (Spain), Thierry Boyer (France), Loïc Dupont (France) and Yusif Bassil (Lebanon).

Olivier Perez, General Manager, Team Altran Peugeot Swaidan Trading said: "Our ambition of placing two cars on the podium and to better our result from last year has been achieved with this perfect one-two finish. I thank every member of our team for their commitment and dedication towards this outstanding performance. I also warmly congratulate all eight of our amazing drivers who managed to bring home the two cars undamaged, a feat achieved by very few teams. Finally, I want to thank our partners, Altran and Peugeot Swaidan Trading, for supporting us in the 2017 season."

Gonzalo De Andrés, Driver, Peugeot 208 GTi #908 that came in second in the A3 Class, said: "I am proud to reach the finish line and to climb the podium at my first participation in 24H DUBAI. I thank the team for giving us one of the fastest, most reliable, and agile race cars I have ever driven and hope to win many more races with this team and with Peugeot."
