Major motorsport and football announcements as Cooper Tire Europe strengthens sports partnership portfolio

Cooper Tire Europe has strengthened its involvement in the world of sport following two major partnership announcements. The brand has again been selected by the FIA World Motor Sport Council as the Official Tyre Supplier and Associate Partner to the FIA World Rallycross Championship and will also be the official tyre partner of German Bundesliga football team 1. FSV Mainz 05.

Cooper Tire was the official tyre sponsor of the Dubai International Motor Show 2015 and has a long and proud history of involvement with major sporting events and clubs. The brand is currently Official Partner to English Premier League team, Arsenal Football Club, as well as sole tyre supplier the US-based Indy Lights race series, which is sanctioned by INDYCAR.

The new FIA World Rallycross Championship contract begins in 2017 and will last for three years. The FIA Off-Road Commission recommended Cooper to the World Motor Sport Council based on its strong technical understanding and history of rallycross tyre requirements, as well as its commitment to the promotion of the championship.

Cooper is the tyre of choice for rallycross competitors across the world, having also supplied tyres to European Rallycross Champions for the past two decades.

As experienced 4x4 drivers across the Middle East and around the world already know, Cooper manufactures an extensive range of 4x4 tyres, and Cooper's unique rallycross tyre composition offers levels of grip and traction on both tarmac and gravel that provide the best all-round performance. For competitors to tackle the changing surfaces, from tarmac to gravel, they need a tyre which is capable of handling both rough and smooth surfaces.

Cooper Tires' three-year partnership with 1. FSV Mainz 05 started with the Bundesliga club's first home game of the 2016/2017 season. The Cooper logo will be visible to both local fans and the wider television audience in Germany via extensive broadcast coverage, while branding will appear on the club's LED advertising boards at their home ground, the OPEL ARENA - a multi-purpose stadium in MainzRhineland-Palatinate, which was opened in 2011.

Sarah McRoberts, EMEA Marketing Communications Manager for Cooper Tire, said: "These important announcements reflect Cooper Tire Europe's strategy to enhance awareness of the brand throughout the EMEA region. In particular we are extremely proud to be continuing our association with the FIA World Rallycross Championship which gives us the perfect platform to be able to demonstrate and promote Cooper's ability to produce tyres which can transition effortlessly across all surfaces found in rallycross."
